Wine isn't made, it's accompanied.

Mauricio Lorca was born in Rivadavia, Mendoza, at the heart of a family connected to the vine for generations. He grew up among vineyards and learned to read the land before he ever studied it in books. That deep root defines his approach to winemaking: humble before nature, demanding in the result.
In 2003 he met Enrique Foster, a Mendoza entrepreneur with the dream of producing his own wine in Luján de Cuyo, the birthplace of Malbec. From that friendship Bodega Foster Lorca was born and, over the years, Mauricio took full control. His project grew across the ocean: first to Ribeira Sacra in Galicia, then to Castilla y León, turning Mauricio Lorca Autor de Vinos into a travelling winemaker who reads every terroir with the same attentiveness he learned in Rivadavia.
In late 2018 he travelled to Vichigasta, an ancestral village of La Rioja, in search of the finest terroir for his own organic wine project. After a long search he found an estate in the western part of the province that captivated him for its climate, soil and fruit. There the winery's organic wines were born: no pesticides, no herbicides, indigenous yeasts and a clear conviction that the best the land has to offer comes from letting it simply be.
"Listen to the land." Every terroir has a unique voice, a story to tell, and the role of the winemaker is to be the interpreter of that narrative. Mauricio Lorca positions himself as an artist: each vine is a canvas, each wine a work crafted with precision and sensitivity. This philosophy combines respect for ancestral practices with an openness to modern techniques — concrete tanks, ceramic clayvers, cold maceration — always aiming to achieve the fullest expression of the fruit without altering its essence.
The commitment to transparency is also expressed in the certifications that back every bottle: ISO 22000:2018, GMP, Vegan, Gluten-Free, Sustainability Bodegas de Argentina (Dec. 2022) and Wine in Moderation. These are not decorative badges: they reflect a way of making wine in which responsibility towards the consumer and the planet is part of the flavour.
It all began in 2002, when Enrique Foster, captivated by Malbec, brought in Mauricio Lorca to walk the path together. The winemaker took charge of the full production under both labels from the winery in Perdriel, Luján de Cuyo.
Since then, Mauricio Lorca has carried innovation as a banner, betting on new ways of living and making winemaking. From premium unoaked wines to sustainability practices, the winery has positioned itself at the vanguard, always faithful to the expression of the terroir.
Bodega Mauricio Lorca is the result of a shared passion: wine. The certainty that the best pairing is enjoyed with those we share life with.
The winery is located in the Perdriel district of Luján de Cuyo, just 30 minutes from the city of Mendoza. The building follows a modern architectural style, surrounded by gardens designed by a xeriscape landscaper using the area's native flora, with the Andes range as a spectacular backdrop.
The winery is equipped with stainless steel tanks and small-capacity concrete pools with independent temperature control, enabling precise, detailed tracking for each wine. Ageing takes place in French and American oak barrels, concrete pools and ceramic clayvers, depending on the product.
